Quinn sees double

The Rowrah circuit in Cumbria played host to the second round of the 2013 LGM series, with what can only be described as atrocious weather. Very heavy rain with wind and fog was taking it to the limit of the race actually being run at all!

Alex-Quinn_1218Shining through from the gloom was Alex Quinn, starting on the front row, Quinn with his smooth driving style made it look easy, with a faultless lights to flag victory, pulling clear of his nearest rivals Lewis Thompson & pole sitter Dextor Patterson. Quinn now heads the series with his double win. The front three pulled a gap from the rest of the field, with a first lap incident involving many drivers at the start in the fog, this included Oliver York, Kiern Jewiss, Jack Brailsford, Tyler Chesterton, Mario Mills to name but a few, all managed to re start apart from Brailsford who received damage to his rear tyre, taking him out of the race. York recovered very well and with the conditions suiting him, managed to get back to a creditable 4th. Teddy Wilson had a better race, still not showing his early year pace, but finishing 5th overall. Sean Butcher equalled his round best of 9th and Jewiss who was unlucky at the first round, did not have a great day either finishing 19th, having to recovering from the pile up at the start. In the Privateers cup, Chesterton again took top honours with 16th overall, Joshua Rafferty & Toby Stevenson taking 2nd & 3rd both of which came through from the ‘B’ final. So its on to the Lincolnshine based PFI circuit next, which hopefully will be back to better weather !
