X30 ‘E’ Plate

The IAME X30 E Plate Championship at Shenington on 17th September

All X30 drivers and everyone that would like to race in a one off X30 championship for the E or English Champion plate, please enter Shenington for 17th September.  Open practice available on Saturday 16th September, all at the usual rates.

In addition to the exclusive use of the E Plate on the kart for X30 Junior and Senior for the next 12 months or whenever the 2018 E Plate is held, the top three in each class will all receive a set of slicks courtesy of John Mills Engineering.  Also the champion will be awarded a free entry to the IAME INTERNATIONAL FINAL on 15th October, subject to licence and age requirements. Subject to availability the Junior Champion may be able to race in Seniors if necessary.

Do put this event into your season diaries now, it is only one of a very few opportunities to get a coveted cherished numberplate in these popular classes.  Entries will open in the summer and be available on Shenington’s online system here: https://www.trakentries.co.uk/clubclone/club.asp?c=23

Racing or practice at Shenington’s club meeting prior to the event is welcomed, always on the third Sunday of the month with practice available on Saturday 17th June and Friday 14th July.  Or enter our Shenington SuperPrix and Historic Revival on 15/16th July, with TV coverage, pig roast, bar and music over the weekend, always the highlight of our season.  Open practice available on Friday 14th July.

Don’t forget we will be running a support race for the new mini X30 class as well to run along side and will be great to see who will be the first winner of this class. X30 Senior to remove front brakes at International level

Following CIK recent decisions of introducing the C-Under 15 license that allows 14 years old drivers to join the Senior classes and despite what we disclosed along the 2016 season and recently during the IAME International Final, we wish to inform that the use of any kind of front brakes will be forbidden in the X30 Senior class (excluding masters) already in 2017 in the two international events promoted by IAME.

After evaluating the scenario that we will face next year, we have come to the conclusion that with such new age limits, the number of X30 Junior drivers that will move to X30 Senior in 2017 will be much more than any usual season passage. For such reason, in order to support our sport and avoid the purchase of a front brakes system to all these drivers that would use it only for one season, we have decided to anticipate the decision originally scheduled for 2018, so after the expiry of the front brakes homologations.
